🔗 Share this article Battlefield 6's Casual Playlist Sparks Intense Debates Regarding Bots, XP Rewards, and Queue Times Recently, Battlefield Studios launched a fresh game mode titled Relaxed Breakthrough. In essence, this mode resembles the regular Breakthrough setup but features a few key changes: Every squad includes only eight real players, with the remaining made up of 32 bots. Activities performed by human gamers grant complete experience points, while AI activities provide lower rewards. Only two locations can be played: Siege of Cairo and Empire State. Features like Dogtags, achievements, and stat tracking are disabled. So essentially, the playlist delivers on its name: it offers a casual take of Breakthrough. On the surface, one could assume there's nothing wrong, since it gives more options for gamers looking for different ways to enjoy the title. But, if video games have taught us anything, it is that you can't please everyone. In other words, many BF6 fans are upset. Player Reactions: Anger to Support "Gamers prefer real players. Avoid making the mistakes of your rivals," states a response to the official announcement. "Absolutely shocking concept," says a different user. At the same time, on the Battlefield subreddit, one user remarks, "It's unclear where we are going with this game," while another lists all the issues they consider to be problematic in Battlefield 6: "Fix bugs, fix drone glitch, fix IVF rockets, fix [the] bloom after sprinting bug, fix awful hit registration. We do not require this AI-heavy playlist." However, for every complaint, some gamers sharing how much they're liking the new mode. "It's very fun to warm up, human participants prevent it from being a total farmfest but it's very relaxed," reads one Reddit comment. "This subreddit doesn't understand that there are players who have lives and don't play this title 24/7. Allow them to find a middle ground," states another. One reply on Twitter explains that as they're "a parent gamer with busy schedules, this is great for me," and another applauds the mode for "avoiding intense competition." Constructive Concerns and Player Feedback Despite the support, players have constructive reasons to complain about Casual Breakthrough. Some users have pointed out that it could increase wait times even longer for different playlists due to the sheer number of options currently available. On a similar note, certain regions already encounter AI-filled matches in the current modes. It also seems a little backwards that the mode won't start without a minimum number of human gamers, despite it primarily centers on fighting AI opponents. Finally, a major grievances is that Battlefield Portal was promised to provide complete rewards, even against bots, but that was removed when they attempted to remove XP farming from the system. So this new playlist feels like the community meeting them halfway, according to a Reddit comment. A different user describes this mode as the devs "dropping the ball so hard, I experienced great enjoyment in the initial release, what prompted them to adjust it?" Future Prospects: Will Changes Be Made? If the development team has demonstrated something so far with Battlefield 6, it's that they're paying attention and responding to player input. Tasks that were overly hard got fixed rapidly, as did the required Redsec challenges. Chances are that, should analytics indicates this recent mode isn't performing to their expectations, they won't be shy to change it again.
