The defender's rehabilitation is progressing well, raising hope that the Real Madrid defender may be fit soon enough to face his old team Liverpool in November's European encounter.

The 27-year-old player suffered a muscle injury while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field in the early stages, with early reports pointing to a possible absence of up to a month and a half.

Real Madrid are scheduled to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—just over a month after the incident happened.

Reports familiar with the player's condition state that the defender's comeback is advancing positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold could make his initial return to Liverpool's stadium after joining Real Madrid in June.

A longtime Liverpool supporter, Alexander-Arnold earlier stated that leaving the team he joined as a six-year-old youth talent was the "most difficult choice he's ever made."

During his spell with the Reds, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 appearances, helping win two Premier League titles, a Champions League, and the FA Cup.

After joining to Madrid, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions across various tournaments, logging over two and a half hours of action.
