The Austrian squad has revealed a major reshuffle for the 2026 Formula 1 season, moving up French driver Isack Hadjar to its main squad and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his debut F1 drive. Lindblad, who comes from a mixed Swedish-Indian background, will be team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the junior outfit Racing Bulls. This reshuffling results in Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda being without a drive post a half-decade in F1. The New British Hope The British teen participated in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been tagged as a rising talent by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the company's young driver programme, a key advisor previously said that Lindblad "seems extremely gifted", commending his "natural quickness". The team has been working for some time to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring appearances in F1 practice sessions at the British and Mexican races. The rookie said it was a "proud moment", commenting: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's a lot to learn, but I'm eager to collaborate with the team and step up. I am incredibly excited to get started." He has won a couple of victories in F2 so far this season and is P6 in the standings heading into the season finale in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break The French driver celebrates his maiden top-three finish in F1, achieved at the Dutch Grand Prix in August. Hadjar's F1 career started on a low note when he crashed on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has emerged as one of the stand-out newcomers of the year. He included an outstanding podium finish at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship. The team principal said: "Isack has displayed impressive growth and proved to be a fast adapter. Most importantly, he has the raw speed that is the primary necessity in this sport. We believe he can excel next to Max." Hadjar described it "an awesome move" and said he felt "prepared". Lawson Retains His Seat For the seat at the junior team, Red Bull have opted for Lawson over Tsunoda. Lawson started 2025 with the main team but was moved back after just two races. He has settled back in at Racing Bulls with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves more time. Tsunoda, meanwhile, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's points total. These announcements mean that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Irish driver Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
